Robot Workshop
Friday Late Create!
Bethnal Green Museum of Childhood,
Sept 2007
To coincide with the London Design Festival, Friday Late left the V&A and headed east to the Museum of Childhood in Bethnal Green.
Visitors of all ages were invited to experience the playful side of design through a series of workshops and installations in one of London's most fascinating museums.
Inspired by tin robots from the 40's and 50's and the beauty of random stationary we created our robot workshop.
Visitors were welcome to come and create their own personal robots from a selection of stationary 'bits' including; small card boxes, coloured stickers, post it notes, rubber bands, hole punches, split pins and treasury tags.
Having built their robots, designers were then asked to name them and give them a special power before we photographed each one.
A catalogue featuring all the robots created on the night, with their names and special powers will be available to download soon from this website.
